Window Washing at a 2-story house in Crystal Lake on Candlewood Drive. 25 windows cleaned. Completed by our Barrington team.
— Barrington crew
Crystal Lake sits far enough northwest of the metro that its older subdivisions carry a quieter feel — mature trees, wide lots, homes that have been through enough Illinois winters to show it on the glass. This two-story house was no exception. Twenty-five double-hung windows had accumulated the kind of layered grime that builds gradually through seasons of wind-carried dust and hard midwest rain, the sort of film that doesn't announce itself but makes itself known once you start pulling a squeegee across the pane.
We ran the job as a full interior and exterior clean, working through all twenty-five double-hungs top to bottom across both floors. Each window got the same treatment: frames wiped, tracks cleared of the dirt and debris that collects in the channels, then the glass worked clean on both sides. Double-hungs move easily when they're in good shape, which kept the pace steady through the upper rooms. Tracks and frames were finished alongside the glass rather than as an afterthought, so everything came out consistent. The job moved without interruption from start to finish.

Common questions from Crystal Lake homeowners researching Window Washing.
For a two-story house in Crystal Lake, a full interior and exterior window cleaning typically runs between $250 and $400 depending on window count and condition. This 25-window job came in at $330, which is a solid benchmark for a home of similar size in the area.
A 25-window, two-story home cleaned inside and out generally takes a professional crew two to four hours to complete. Factors like screen removal, hard water buildup, and window height can add time, but most jobs of this size wrap up in a single visit.
On this job, every one of the 25 double hung windows was cleaned on both the inside and outside panes, with frames and sills wiped down as part of the process. Double hung windows get special attention since both sashes tilt in for thorough cleaning of all glass surfaces without ladders on the interior side.
Yes, screens are removed during the cleaning process and wiped down so they go back in clean rather than immediately dirtying the freshly washed glass. If a screen is damaged, we'll flag it for you during the visit. For a quote, call our Barrington team at (847) 715-9493.
