Window Washing at a 3-story house in Evanston on Asbury Avenue. 100 windows cleaned. Completed by our Chicago team.
Evanston's older residential blocks tend to hold onto summer long after it's gone elsewhere, and by the time we arrived at this three-story house the season had left its mark on the glass. A hundred windows and nine skylights on a home that tall accumulates a specific kind of grime — spider webs anchored in every corner, bug residue baked onto the panes, and the particular film that builds up when French-style divided lights give insects and spiders more ledge and muntin surface to work with. The property sat well above street level, and the sheer scale of the job was clear from the driveway.
We were brought in for exterior-only work, which let us move methodically from the ground floor up rather than coordinating interior access. The French-style windows meant extra attention at the muntins and along each individual pane division — webbing and insect debris collect in those channels and don't clear with a single squeegee pass. The oversized units on the upper floors required careful positioning to reach the full glass area cleanly, and at three stories the work demanded steady footing and deliberate movement throughout. The nine skylights were worked into the sequence as we reached the roofline. It was a full day's labor, worked through from one side of the house to the other, and the invoice went out once the last skylight was done.
Crew on this job
Timothy
Timothy may be our youngest technician, but don’t let that fool you. He’s experienced, professional, courteous, and already knows his way around the job like a seasoned pro. He’s also a promising DJ, so there’s a good chance he can fix the problem and recommend a solid playlist while he’s at it. Everyone loves Timothy because he’s easy to talk to, always upbeat, and genuinely enjoys meeting people. He also has a strange love for Wisconsin, which we still haven’t fully figured out - but nobody’s perfect.

Common questions from Evanston homeowners researching Window Washing.
This 100-window, 3-story home in Evanston came out to $867 for exterior-only service, which works out to roughly $8–9 per window at that scale. For most large homes in the Chicago area, exterior-only window washing typically runs $300–$900 depending on window count, height, and complexity — oversized or specialty windows like French-style panes push the price toward the higher end.
A job this size — 100 windows plus 9 skylights on a very tall 3-story home — is a full-day crew effort, generally running 6–8 hours. Oversized French-style windows and the extra reach required at the third story add time compared to a standard single-story job of similar window count.
On this job we cleaned all 100 exterior window panes, including the French-style divided lights, and washed all 9 skylights. Heavy bug and spider buildup was scrubbed off before washing, and every pane was squeegeed and detailed — tracks and interior surfaces are not part of an out-only service.
Yes — third-story and above is routine for our crews, and this Evanston home was a good example, with very tall elevations requiring extended ladders and water-fed pole equipment to reach safely. Skylights at roof level were also included in the same visit, so nothing gets skipped due to height. For a quote, call our Chicago team at (773) 377-4600.
