Window Washing at a 2-story house in Vernon Hills on Augusta Drive. 16 windows cleaned. Completed by our Northbrook team.
— Northbrook crew
A two-story house in Vernon Hills, 16 windows inside and out, 16 screens — a clean, manageable scope that still asks for steady attention to get done right. The home was a standard residential clean with no particular complications flagged, just the kind of thorough in-and-out service that keeps glass clear through the season and prevents grime from bonding to the frames over time.
The technician arrived at noon and moved through the work methodically — exterior and interior panes, frame wiping, and screen brushing on all 16 screens. No shortcuts on the screens; each one got worked with a brush rather than a quick rinse and reset. The full job wrapped in two hours, a solid pace that kept quality intact without dragging the afternoon out. Invoice handled, day closed clean.

Common questions from Vernon Hills homeowners researching Window Washing.
For a 2-story house with 16 windows cleaned inside and out, this Vernon Hills job came to $228 — a typical range for similar homes in the area runs $180–$280 depending on window count and accessibility. Factors like storm windows, skylights, or hard-to-reach upper-floor windows can push the price toward the higher end.
A 16-window, inside-and-out job on a 2-story home generally takes a professional crew 2 to 3 hours from setup to finish. Tight sills, screens that need extra scrubbing, or second-floor windows requiring a ladder can add some time, but most jobs like this wrap up well within a half-day.
On this project we cleaned all 16 windows on both the interior and exterior, and that included washing all 16 screens as well. In general, our full-service window cleaning covers glass on both sides, frames wiped down, and screens removed, cleaned, and reinstalled — so nothing gets skipped.
Yes, upper-floor windows are a standard part of the job — we use extension poles and ladders to reach second-story glass safely without skipping panes or cutting corners. This Vernon Hills home is a good example: all 16 windows, including the upper level, were cleaned inside and out in a single visit. For a quote, call our Northbrook team at (847) 297-4492.
