Window Washing at a 2-story house in North Barrington on Kaitlins Way. 56 windows cleaned. Completed by our Barrington team.
— Barrington crew
North Barrington sits in that quiet stretch of the North Shore where the lots run deep and the houses tend toward the substantial. This two-story home was no exception — 56 windows across the exterior, a number that makes for a full day's work before you even factor in the French-style divided-light configuration running throughout the property. That muntin grid means each pane gets individual attention; you can't just run a wide squeegee across the glass and call it done.
We worked exterior-only on this one, moving methodically around the building's faces. The French-style windows presented their usual challenge with the grid lines — every bar wiped, every small pane cleared without streaking into the next. Several of the windows ran oversized, which meant repositioning equipment and taking extra care to maintain even pressure across the full span of glass without leaving dry edges at the corners. By the time we wrapped the last elevation, every divided light on the property had been worked cleanly, and the invoice went out the same day.

Common questions from North Barrington homeowners researching Window Washing.
This 56-window exterior cleaning on a 2-story home in North Barrington came to $360, which works out to roughly $6–$7 per window. For most 2-story houses in the area, exterior-only service typically runs between $250 and $450 depending on window count, size, and accessibility.
A job of this scale — 56 windows including oversized panes on a 2-story home — generally takes a crew around 3 to 5 hours to complete properly. Oversized windows require more time per pane, so the window count alone doesn't tell the whole story when estimating duration.
Exterior-only service covers a full hand-wash of every outside glass surface, including detailed work around the dividers on French-style windows where grime tends to collect in the grilles. Frames and sills on the exterior are wiped down as part of the process, but interior glass and screens are not included in an out-only package.
Yes, second-story windows are a standard part of what we do, and this North Barrington job included reaching oversized windows on the upper level of the home. We use water-fed poles and ladders as needed to clean upper-floor glass safely and thoroughly. For a quote, call our Barrington team at (847) 715-9493.
