Window Washing at a 2-story house in Barrington on North Kelsey Road. 66 windows cleaned. Completed by our Barrington team.
— Barrington crew
Barrington's older estate properties tend to spread across enough acreage that a single address can mean two or three distinct structures. That was the case here — a two-story house with a separate guest house on the same grounds, along with a barn whose skylights had clearly been waiting on attention. Sixty-six windows total, a mix of French-style and double-hung, all exterior only, plus four skylights. The crew arrived just before eight on a quiet morning with the kind of light that makes dirty glass obvious from twenty feet away.
We started with the guest house, working through its windows methodically before crossing to the main property. The French-style units got careful attention along the muntins where grime tends to collect in the divided sections. Double-hung frames were wiped down and squeegeed clean. We finished on the barn, running the four skylights last — glass that, once cleared, would open up a wide view from inside. Everything was wrapped in sequence, nothing skipped. Invoice went out the same day.

Common questions from Barrington homeowners researching Window Washing.
For this two-story home in Barrington, cleaning 66 windows plus 4 skylights exterior-only came to $420. Typical exterior-only window washing on a similarly sized home in the Chicago North Shore area runs $300–$500 depending on window count, style, and accessibility.
A job this size — 66 windows including French style and double hung styles, plus 4 skylights — generally takes a crew about 3 to 4 hours to complete. Factors like window style and roofline access can add time, but exterior-only work moves faster than interior-and-exterior packages.
Exterior-only service covers full cleaning of all outside glass surfaces, including specialty windows like French style and double hung panes, plus any skylights on the job. Frames and sills along the exterior are wiped down as part of the process, so you're not left with clean glass sitting in dirty frames.
Yes — skylights and second-story windows are a standard part of what we handle on two-story homes, as this project with 4 skylights shows. We use the appropriate ladders and water-fed pole equipment to reach elevated glass safely without cutting corners on the clean. For a quote, call our Barrington team at (847) 715-9493.
