Gutter Cleaning at a 2-story house in Lake Forest on Christina Lane. 4000 sq ft. Completed by our Northbrook team.
— Northbrook crew
Lake Forest properties tend to sit under serious tree canopy, and by the time a season's worth of debris finishes settling, gutters on a house this size are carrying a real load. This two-story home, with roughly 4,000 square feet of footprint, had oversized gutters throughout — the kind of wide-profile troughs that handle high runoff volumes but can pack tightly with compacted leaves and organic matter when they go uncleaned.
We arrived on schedule and worked through the oversized gutters systematically, clearing the accumulated debris from the troughs and making sure the system could drain the way it was designed to. The larger gutter profile meant more volume to clear at each run, so we moved methodically rather than rushing the process. By the time we wrapped, the gutters were open and flowing, ready to handle whatever the next round of weather brought through this part of the North Shore.

Common questions from Lake Forest homeowners researching Gutter Cleaning.
For a 4,000 sq ft two-story home in Lake Forest, this job came in at $325, which is typical for a property of that size and height. In the broader Chicago North Shore area, gutter cleaning on a two-story house generally runs between $200 and $400 depending on linear footage, roof pitch, and debris load.
A 4,000 sq ft two-story home like this one usually takes a crew two to three hours to clean thoroughly from start to finish. Heavier debris buildup from trees or a recent storm can add time, but most jobs at this scale wrap up in a single visit.
We clear out all debris — leaves, seed pods, shingle grit, and compacted buildup — from the gutters and flush the downspouts to confirm water is moving through freely. On a job like this two-story house, we also do a visual check of the gutters while we're up there so any obvious issues get flagged before they become bigger problems.
Most two-story homes in the Chicago area benefit from cleaning twice a year — once in late spring after tree seeds and pollen settle, and again in late fall after the leaves have dropped. Homes surrounded by heavy tree cover, like many in Lake Forest, may need an additional mid-season pass to prevent clogs and overflow damage. For a quote, call our Northbrook team at (847) 297-4492.
