A two-story house in Darien, sitting on a 1,750-square-foot footprint, had gone at least a couple of years without a gutter cleaning by the time the new owners called us in. They had bought the place a year prior and hadn't gotten around to it yet, and the gutters showed every bit of that neglect — small volunteer trees had taken root in the debris, granule buildup from the shingles had packed in alongside the organic matter, and the system was well overdue for a full flush.
The crew cleared the gutters by hand, pulling out two full bags of compacted debris that included the rooted plant growth and a heavy layer of shingle granules. All four downspouts were clogged and needed to be opened up individually before water could move freely through the system again. The roof surface was cleaned as part of the same visit, keeping the job contained to one mobilization. Despite the condition of the gutters, the work wrapped in thirty minutes — a clean in-and-out with everything flowing properly at the end. Invoice went out the same day.
