Gutter Cleaning at a 1-story house in Chicago on North Kennicott Avenue. 1200 sq ft. Completed by our Chicago team.
A compact one-story bungalow on Chicago's northwest side, the kind of well-kept modest house that fills the blocks running toward Irving Park — this one had gutters that had quietly filled through the fall. Leaf debris had packed into the channels and, more importantly, had worked its way down into the downspout elbows, which were fully stopped up by the time we arrived. The detached garage out back needed the same attention, so we'd factored that into the scope before the crew pulled up around ten-thirty.
We cleared the main house gutters first, pulling debris by hand and flushing the runs to confirm flow. The clogged elbows took some focused work — fishing out the compacted material and checking that water moved freely through each joint before moving on. Once the house was done, we turned to the garage, which added a short but necessary pass around its roofline. Everything was wrapped by eleven-fifty, about an hour and twenty minutes of steady work start to finish. Invoice went out the same day.

Common questions from Chicago homeowners researching Gutter Cleaning.
For a single-story home around 1,200 sq ft in Chicago, gutter cleaning typically runs $150–$200, and this job came in at $170. Pricing can vary based on the linear footage of gutters, how clogged they are, and whether downspouts need extra attention.
A single-story house this size generally takes one to two hours for a two-person crew. On this particular job, clogged elbows in the downspouts added a bit of time since those require hands-on clearing rather than a simple flush.
The work covers removing all debris from the gutters themselves, flushing the downspouts to confirm water flows freely, and clearing any clogged elbows that are blocking drainage. On this job we also worked through a stubborn downspout clog that would have caused overflow damage if left untreated.
Most Chicago-area homes benefit from cleaning twice a year — once in late spring after seed and pollen season and again in late fall after the leaves drop. Homes near large trees may need a third visit, since heavy debris buildup is exactly what caused the clogged downspouts and elbows we cleared on this job.
